Mike Finders (rhymes with "cinders") is songwriter, storyteller and educator.  He performs solo, with the progressive bluegrass quintet from Colorado: FY5, as well as frequent appearances with other duo or small ensemble configurations .   FY5 is a nationally touring band with more than fifteen years together and five self-released projects of original music.

Mike's current musical efforts have him re-embracing his singer-songwriter identity, recently completing his first solo EP, releasing in early 2027.

He is a two-time winner of the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC, and enjoys co-writing with a few of his favorite writers.  His songs are often heard in pickin' circles at bluegrass jams and festival campfires.

As a music educator, Mike has crafted and facilitated hundreds of music workshops, camps, and group lessons.  He is a regular guitar and songwriting instructor at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
